How do I apply for ISO 14001 certification?

1 Make an appointment with SKG-IKOB

SKG-IKOB will explain all the possibilities relating to acquiring an ISO 14001 certificate beforehand so that you know exactly what to expect in terms of effort and investment. Make an appointment.

2 Submit application

This is the official start of the ISO 14001 certification process. Subsequently, the first appointments will be made by the SKG-IKOB audit team to carry out an admission review.

3 Admission review

To assess whether your environmental management system complies with the guidelines, the SKG-IKOB audit team conducts an admission review, or an audit (in 2 stages). The results of the audit will be used to decide whether your company can be certified.

SKG-IKOB will inspect various aspects, including:

• the control of environment-related processes within your organization
• the degree of management involvement in environmental policy
• your organization's environmental management systems and the way in which the organization meets the legal requirements
• the way that the criteria for the ISO 14001 standard are embedded in your organization's environmental policy and the management and improvement of environmental performance.

4 Certificate Issuance

If all the criteria have been met, SKG-IKOB will issue an ISO 14001 certificate. This will be published on the websites of the SCCM and SKG-IKOB.

5 Periodical checks

Continuity is crucial in certification. Therefore, SKG-IKOB will annually check your organisation's environmental management system to determine whether the system still meets the standards. Make an appointment.
