Bouwgarant quality label

BouwGarant is the largest building quality label in the Netherlands, with 1,700 affiliated building companies. Every 3 years, SKG-IKOB tests and assesses the workmanship, quality and reliability of these businesses.

Identifying the odd-job firms and 'cowboys'

The quality label gives clients greater certainty about hiring a trustworthy building firm. The BouwGarant quality label sorts the high-quality building and construction contractors from the odd-job men and 'cowboys'. A BouwGarant contractor:

• has all the right qualifications and insurance;
• issues straightforward, fair quotes and terms;
• makes clear agreements about contract variations;
• compiles a clear handover report.

Transparent complaints procedure

Complaints must be dealt with according to a transparent complaints procedure. If the client and contractor fail to reach agreement, the complaint can be put before an independent disputes committee.

Insured guarantee

Clients can take out VerBOUWgarantie (re-building insurance) for extra certainty. This insurance guarantees that the building work will be completed and any defects that appear later will be remedied. SKG-IKOB carries out 3-yearly inspections and advises BouwGarant about issuing quality labels to companies.
