How do I apply for VCA certification?

1 Make an appointment with SKG-IKOB

SKG-IKOB will explain all the possibilities relating to acquiring a VCA certificate beforehand so that you know exactly what to expect in terms of effort and investment. Make an appointment.

2 Submit an application

This is the official start of the VCA certification process. The first appointment with the SKG-IKOB audit team will be made in order to carry out an admission review.

3 Admission review

The SKG-IKOB audit team will carry out an admission review (audit) to see whether your safety management system satisfies the guidelines. The results of the audit will be used to decide whether your company can be certified.

SKG-IKOB will inspect various aspects, including:

• the control of processes within your organization
• the degree of management involvement in safety policy
• your organization's safety management system and the way in which the organization meets the legal requirements
• the way that the criteria for the VCA standard are embedded in your organization's policy, the expertise of your staff, implementation and procedures.

4 Certificate issuance

If all the criteria have been met, SKG-IKOB will issue a VCA certificate. This will be published on the websites of VCA and SKG-IKOB.

5 Periodic checks

Continuity is crucial in certification. Therefore, SKG-IKOB will annually check your organisation's safety management system to determine whether the system still meets the standards. Make an appointment.
